Zone SEMA Truck – New Headlights

March 18th, 2010

Since the last time we had the lights blacked out on our SEMA truck they were a little dark for night driving so we opted to switch them out to these. Projector style with angel eyes.

Coldwater, MI—February 24, 2010—Give your Chevy or GM a much needed facelift with a torsion key leveling kit available now from Zone Offroad Products. Zone Offroad torsion keys are made in the USA and UNLIKE MANY IMPORT KEYS ON THE MARKET are 100% resonant frequency tested to ensure a solid casting. A solid casting means you can put your mind at ease that Zone keys won’t fail over the lifetime of your vehicle. Once tested the keys are CNC machined to achieve a consistent 2” of lift with the adjustment bolts in the factory position.

These keys give you the ability to clear up to 33” tires and more adjustment for a plow or added weight. Shock relocation brackets or longer shocks are recommended and also available through Zone Offroad. Zone torsion keys are engineered and manufactured in the USA and sold at competitive prices. Go to zoneoffroad.com to order or for information on a more comprehensive list of leveling kits available.

Zone Chevy SEMA Truck with Fox Coilovers!

January 26th, 2010

After the addition of Iron Bull bumpers and a Warn 16,000lb winch the front of the Zone truck was lets just say… lacking. The factory coils are not meant to handle this kind of punishment, so a coil upgrade was in order. There are not a lot of easy direct swaps, so we ordered up some Fox coilovers and Eibach 700 lb/in coils. We had to cut apart a factory strut to steal the lower bushing assembly.  We want the factory style lower mount because this gives the best long term reliability. The upper mount was left with the COM bearing setup with a CNC’d upper mount. A lot of grease was packed around the COM bearing and a rubber washer was added to each side to seal it up. The upper COM bearing should last a very long time in this configuration. The final thing we did was cut out some rubber isolators for each side of the Eibach coil.

Friday’s FAQ #1 2500HD Wheel Fitment

January 22nd, 2010

I’ve decided that every Friday I’m going to answer a frequenty asked question so that over time I will build a resource for our customers.

Todays Question:

Can I use my factory wheels with your 2500HD 6″ suspension lift?

Answer:

All stock 2500HD wheels will physcially bolt back on and have clearance with our knuckle.  The problem is, the stock wheels are relatively narrow for a larger tire.  We’ve actually put on 35×12.50s with stock 17′s before but it’s out of the realm of the recommended tire sizes for the width of the wheel.  A stock 17″ wheel is something like 7″ wide and a 16″ wheel is even narrower.  Most tire manufacturers will recommend at least an 8″ wide wheel for a 12.50″ wide tire.
